Busch Gardens celebrates World Rhino Day on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
Members of the Rhino Animal Care Team will be celebrating with guests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. near the Nairobi train station with a World Rhino Day tent. There will be fun crafts, trivia, rhino artifacts and educational activities for the whole family. Plus, some games will have small rhino-inspired prizes! Guests can even help create a large paper mache globe that will be given to the rhinos as enrichment later in the day.
Join Save the Rhino and help celebrate World Rhino Day 2015 by getting involved with their “Nail it for Rhinos” campaign to raise awareness of the threats facing the world’s five rhino species.
Make a stand for rhinos by painting your nails to raise awareness for the rhinos and show the world that rhino horn is made the same substance as nails! This one of the more creative campaigns and loads of fun!

San Francisco Zoo & Gardens invites their guests on September 19 to Celebrate World Rhino Day with Elly, Boone and Gauhati.
Guests can groove to a set from the Ray Tones Band, enjoy special Keeper Talks, and hear about work to save rhinos around the world from our conservation partners. Crafts, face painting, and activities will inspire you and your family to discover more about the remarkable rhinoceros.
Potter Park Zoo in Lansing, Michigan will offer special tours and a behind-the-scenes look at their black rhino exhibit on September 20.
Zookeepers will guide guests into the exhibit holding area and show the work that goes into the care and preservation of these amazing animals. Lucky guests might even get a chance to meet one of these rare and endangered rhinos up close!
There will also be rhino informational tables and activities for the kids from 10:30a-4p.

Namibia, located along the southwestern coast of Africa, supports over a third of the world’s black rhinos. This includes the last truly wild population that survives in the northern reaches of the Namib Desert. Since 2009, the Minnesota Zoo has partnered with a Namibian conservation organization, Save the Rhino Trust, to help protect and expand this unique wild rhino population.
Rescuing Rhino is an illustrated story about an orphaned baby rhino, how he was cared for and eventually released back into the wild. The book deals with caring for orphaned wild animals and the plight of the rhino with fact and activity sections focused around the rhino and other orphaned animals. We have set up our rewards system in such a way that people who contribute to our campaign have the option of receiving books to donate to a charity/school of their choice.
In the build up to World Rhino Day, Judy will be holding a garden fundraiser in Cape Town on Sunday the 20th of September from 2pm to 5pm in order to raise funds for the campaign. Everyone is welcome, so bring your friends and family to enjoy some fun in the garden, learn some history of the area and have a cup of tea with the Chameleon Books team.
